Samsung just confirmed what everyone expected — and the stakes for this event could not be higher.
The company will host Galaxy Unpacked 2026 on Wednesday, February 25 at 10:00 AM PT (1:00 PM ET / 6:00 PM GMT / 11:30 PM IST) in San Francisco, with a global livestream on Samsung's YouTube channel and official website. This marks Samsung's first major product launch of 2026, and based on the official invitation — which prominently features the phrase "truly personal and adaptive" alongside Galaxy AI branding — artificial intelligence will dominate the entire presentation.
The event is expected to unveil the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra, alongside the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. Samsung has already opened pre-reservations, offering early adopters a $30 Samsung Credit, trade-in bonuses up to $900, and entry into a $5,000 gift card giveaway. Pre-orders are expected to open immediately after the event, with retail availability beginning in early March across the USA, India, Europe, and other major markets.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the undisputed star of the show. According to multiple reports, the phone will run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor globally — meaning no Exynos variants for any market this year, a significant win for international buyers. The base Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus models, however, may still use Exynos chips in select regions, continuing Samsung's dual-processor strategy.

Design-wise, all three phones are getting a slight refresh. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is finally adopting rounder edges to better match the S26 and S26 Plus, moving away from the sharp, boxy design Samsung has used for years. The camera bump is also being refined across the lineup, and the S26 Ultra may become slightly slimmer and lighter than its predecessor. The Galaxy S26 is expected to feature a 6.3-inch display, a small increase from the 6.2-inch screen on the S25, while the S26 Plus and S26 Ultra will retain their existing screen sizes.
Samsung teased one of the most talked-about features on February 17, just days before the event. The Galaxy S26 Ultra will include a Privacy Display powered by Flex Magic Pixel OLED technology, which allows users to make their screen visible only to themselves — blocking the view of anyone sitting next to them. The display is also expected to support 10-bit color depth for richer, more accurate colours, and peak brightness may reach 2,600 nits, making it one of the brightest smartphone displays available.
Camera upgrades are expected but not revolutionary. The S26 Ultra will retain its 200MP main sensor, but Samsung is reportedly upgrading the telephoto system with a 50MP 5x periscope lens with OIS and a smaller 12MP 3x telephoto. The main sensor may also switch from Samsung's own ISOCELL to a Sony-made sensor, which could significantly improve photo quality. Samsung also teased new AI photography tools that will allow users to turn day into night in seconds, restore missing parts of objects, capture detailed low-light photos, and seamlessly merge multiple photos into one cohesive result.
Battery capacity is expected to stay at 5,000mAh, but charging speeds are getting a meaningful upgrade. The Galaxy S26 Ultra may support 60W wired charging and 25W wireless charging, a significant improvement over the S25 Ultra's 45W wired charging. RAM configurations are rumored to start at 12GB for the S26 and S26 Plus, with the S26 Ultra offering up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and storage options up to 1TB.
Pricing is the wildcard. Multiple reports suggest Samsung will raise prices by approximately $100 across the board due to rising memory and component costs. That would put the Galaxy S26 Ultra starting price at around $1,399 in the USA and approximately ₹1,44,999 in India. However, Samsung has not officially confirmed pricing, and the company may absorb some costs to remain competitive with Apple's iPhone 17 series and Google's Pixel 10 lineup.
Beyond phones, Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. Leaked images suggest the earbuds will feature flatter stems, a more compact charging case, and improved touch-sensitive areas. Upgrades are expected to include better audio quality, enhanced active noise cancellation, a physical button on the case to locate a paired phone, and new head gesture controls for hands-free interaction.
Samsung may also provide updates on the Galaxy Z TriFold, which launched in select markets in late 2025 but has not yet arrived in North America. The device carries a $2,900 price tag and features a 10-inch main display that transforms it into a genuine tablet replacement. If Samsung spends any time on the TriFold at Unpacked, it will likely be to announce US availability and pricing rather than unveiling new hardware.
One product that will not appear is the Galaxy S26 Edge. Despite rumors suggesting a successor to the ultra-thin Galaxy S25 Edge, reports now indicate Samsung has either canceled the model or delayed it indefinitely due to poor sales performance of its predecessor.
Software will be a major focus as well. Samsung is expected to showcase deeper integration with Google Gemini, a refreshed Bixby AI assistant powered by Samsung's own large language models, and expanded collaboration with Perplexity AI for smarter search and contextual assistance. Samsung may also tease its upcoming smart glasses developed in partnership with Google, Warby Parker, and Gentle Monster — though a full product launch is not expected until later in 2026.
Galaxy Unpacked 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most consequential smartphone events of the year. With Apple's iPhone 17e expected to launch just days earlier and Google's Pixel 10a already on the market, Samsung is entering a fiercely competitive landscape where every feature, every price point, and every AI capability will be scrutinized by buyers who are holding onto their phones longer than ever before. The question is not whether Samsung will deliver a strong product lineup — it almost certainly will. The question is whether that will be enough to justify higher prices in a market where consumers are demanding more value for every dollar spent.
